1. Acceptance of Terms

By using any service provided by Island Waves Shipping, the customer agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. By proceeding with our services, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms in full. Continued use of our services constitutes ongoing acceptance.

2. Scope of Services

Island Waves Shipping provides courier and logistics services, including but not limited to:

  • International shipping from the United States to Jamaica only

  • Air freight shipping services

  • Assisted online shopping and payment services

  • Warehousing and package handling

  • Drop-off and local delivery services

  • Delivery via third-party courier services, including Knutsford Express, where applicable

Island Waves Shipping reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at its discretion without prior notice.

3. Shipping Schedule

Island Waves Shipping ships approximately three (3) times per week. All shipping schedules are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to customs processing, carrier schedules, inspections, weather conditions, or other factors beyond our control.

4. Service Areas

Island Waves Shipping services the following locations in Jamaica:

  • Montego Bay

  • Hopewell

  • Lucea

  • Negril

Delivery outside these areas may be facilitated through third-party courier services at the customer’s expense.

5. Responsibility, Risk & Liability

All shipments are transported at the customer’s own risk.

Island Waves Shipping assumes zero liability for loss, damage, delay, or errors related to shipments, regardless of cause.

Responsibility, where applicable, begins only when a package is physically received by Island Waves Shipping and ends once the package is handed over to third-party carriers, customs authorities, or delivery partners.

Island Waves Shipping is not responsible for:

  • Vendor or retailer errors

  • Incorrect or incomplete information provided by customers

  • Packages lost, delayed, or misdelivered prior to reaching our possession

  • Delays, losses, or damages caused by airlines, customs authorities, Knutsford Express, or any other third party

6. Packaging & Fragile Items

Island Waves Shipping is not responsible for damage caused by improper or insufficient packaging by vendors, senders, or customers.

Fragile items, including but not limited to electronics, glass items, liquids, cosmetics, wigs, or breakable goods, are shipped strictly at the owner’s risk, regardless of packaging method.

7. Prohibited & Restricted Items

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all items shipped comply with local and international laws.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:

  • Illegal drugs or controlled substances

  • Firearms, ammunition, or weapons

  • Explosives, flammable, or hazardous materials

  • Counterfeit or replica goods

  • Pornographic or obscene materials

  • Perishable foods

  • Live animals

  • Cash, cheques, or negotiable instruments

Any prohibited or restricted item may be handed over to authorities or disposed of without refund. Island Waves Shipping assumes no liability for seizures, fines, penalties, or legal consequences arising from such items.

8. Customs, Duties & Fees

Customers are fully responsible for all customs declarations, duties, taxes, and government-related fees.

Island Waves Shipping assumes no liability for customs delays, inspections, seizures, holds, or penalties imposed by customs authorities.

9. Assisted Online Shopping Services

Island Waves Shipping offers assisted online shopping services for customers without credit or debit cards.

For assisted shopping services:

  • Full payment is required upfront

  • Customers must approve item details prior to purchase

  • Payments are non-refundable once processing begins

  • Island Waves Shipping is not responsible for vendor errors, delays, cancellations, incorrect items, or sizing issues

All refund or exchange matters remain strictly between the customer and the vendor.

10. Payments

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Bank transfer

  • Cash

All payments must be settled in full before processing. Payments are non-refundable once shipment or service processing begins, regardless of delays or outcomes.

11. Claims & Complaints

All claims must be submitted in writing via email within seven (7) days of notification or receipt.

Supporting documentation, including invoices and photographs, may be required.

WhatsApp messages do not constitute official claims.

12. Storage & Uncollected Packages

Packages not collected within seven (7) days of notification may be subject to storage fees.

Packages remaining uncollected after thirty (30) days may incur additional fees.

Packages uncollected after sixty (60) days may be disposed of without further notice to recover storage and administrative costs. Customers remain responsible for all outstanding charges.

13. Cancellations

Cancellations must be requested prior to service commencement. Once processing begins, cancellations may not be accepted. Island Waves Shipping reserves the right to cancel services at its discretion.

14. Amendments

Island Waves Shipping reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website or online platforms.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between Island Waves Shipping and the customer and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
